What Makes Your Effort Truly Matter

Doaily

I made this app because I wanted to share the to-do list system that has helped me stay accountable and get things done.

Today, I'm posting literally just to show up.

When I started this whole writing journey, my goal was (is) to improve my communication and the clarity of my thoughts.

Writing (I believe) is one of the most important skills that you can develop because it opens a lot of doors in both life and work.

So, even on days (like today) when there really isn't any inspiration or motivation for me to write, I still want to show up to keep the momentum that I'm building and just force consistency.

//Showing Up Isn't Enough

Every day, as I continue to show up for my goals, I'm learning more and more that consistency is overrated.

Consistency and showing up is definitely essential, but those things that you show up for just becomes hollow activities without clear intent.

Take my new YouTube journey as an example. I've started posting video versions of my writing on there as well to further improve communication skills.

And with my videos so far, I'm noticing that I say "uhm" a lot. So, with the video version of this current blog that you're reading, that's something I've acknowledged and set intent on not doing for the video. And hopefully too, for the rest of the videos that I post in the future.

If I didn't keep the goal in mind in every video I posted, I would be showing up just to show up. I wouldn't have done the reflection that I needed to do in order to improve myself.

I probably would just continue making videos with me saying "uhm". I would be consistent at showing up for my goals, but not necessarily make progress at all.

The goals I had set at the start of my YouTube journey provides me the focus and clarity that I need to make every video meaningful.

Without clear goals and intentions, you risk reaching nothing.

This applies to everything, not just writing or making videos. Whether you’re trying to build a skill, grow your career, or improve your relationships, effort without keeping the main goal in mind often leads to frustration.

Your goal is the compass that guides your actions, ensuring that every step you take has purpose and meaning.

Your consistency without intention just becomes routine at some point that leads you nowhere.

So, keep showing up. But always keep your purpose in mind.

Short and sweet for this one.
